Desert Lake with Vespignani Glacier

We leave El Chalten traveling by bus the 36 km that separate us from Lago del Desierto through a beautiful scenic road with permanent images, among forests and bordering the Rio de las Vueltas. Then, from the Punta Sur dock we sail for about 30 minutes sighting the Huemul and Crestón glaciers to disembark in the Vespignani Glacier sector, which is located in the middle of the lake. Once there, always under the supervision of a person in charge of the activity for your safety, you can choose to walk some of the perfectly marked trails of the Vespignani Glacier Reserve according to the difficulty and effort you wish to make. We have three trails, for this excursion we recommend the intermediate trail that leads us with a slight and constant slope in only 15 minutes to an outstanding panoramic point overlooking the Vespignani Glacier. You can also choose to complement the other tours by taking the interpretive trail that visits the wooded and coastal area of the reserve without ascents. Or take the more demanding trail that will take about 45 minutes at a slow pace to overcome 150 meters of slope and access the foot of the Vespignani glacier, with an incredible view of the north face of Mount Fitz Roy. After a farewell snack we embark back to arrive at the Punta Sur dock. From there the bus takes us to El Chaltén where our adventure ends. Daily departures by bus from El Chaltén at 11:00 hs, departing from Punta Sur at 13:00 hs, returning to Punta Sur at 16:00 hs, and ending in El Chaltén at 18:00 hs.
