Description

[{"insert":"The deep canyon of the Pinturas River houses the most important archaeological site in Patagonia. In the so-called Hands Cave, evidence of human passage through the area has been recorded, depicted in rock paintings over a period of almost ten thousand years. The proposal is to emulate our ancestors and access the site by the same path they used in ancient times.\r\n"},{"insert":"Itinerary:\r","attributes":{"underline":true}},{"insert":"\nPick up from the Hotel at 8:00 / 8:30 am, and we begin our journey taking Route 40, spotting a great deal of native fauna, with several stops at panoramic points and crossing the Caracoles Canyon to arrive at the Visitors and Interpretation Center of Hands Cave. Once there, following the footsteps of our ancestors, we will undertake a trekking tour inside the Pinturas River Canyon to appreciate different caves and alcoves with a wide variety of rock paintings, hands in positive and negative, animals, and symbols at a high level of conservation. On our return, we will be waiting for lunch and to visit the Interpretation Center. Returning to Los Antiguos, we will explore the Caracoles Canyon to understand its origin and perhaps catch a glimpse of a condor in flight. Finally, we will visit the trekking "Colored Lands," an ideal spot for photography, of great scenic beauty and source of raw material for the rock art of the region. We will arrive back in Los Antiguos at 5:00 pm.\r\n\r\n"},{"insert":"Optional Trekker Plus:","attributes":{"underline":true}},{"insert":"For those enthusiastic about trekking, we consider the possibility of reaching the Visitors Center by undertaking an additional 5 km trek through the Pinturas River Canyon (subject to operational conditions) before joining the guided trail with the rest of the group.\n"}]
