Description
This fascinating adventure offers an exclusive navigation to the penguin colony, a visit to the southernmost fishing village in the world, and an unforgettable gastronomic experience in the "Route of the Spider Crab". Only 70 km east of Ushuaia, Almanza is a picturesque village that stands out for its artisanal production of spider crab and a varied marine gastronomy, obtained in an exceptional conservation environment. We leave Ushuaia in the afternoon, traveling along Route 3 through the Patagonian Andean forest, surrounded by the majestic Andes and vast peat bogs. We continue passing through winter centers, until the intersection with Route "J", from where we head south, accompanied by the Lasifashaj River, where we will observe beaver colonies formed by these animals introduced from Canada. In Puerto Almanza, we will board a small boat to navigate the Beagle Channel, allowing us to approach the islands and enjoy a respectful experience with nature, without interfering with the penguins' habitat. During the trip to Martillo Island, we will contemplate spectacular landscapes and different species of seabirds. Upon arrival at the island, we will approach the island to observe the Magellanic and Gentoo penguins up close. Back on land, we will explore the small fishing village, home to about 15 families dedicated to artisanal crab fishing, seafood harvesting and trout farming. This place is a reflection of life at the end of the world and its rich gastronomic culture. In the village, we will enjoy a delicious seafood tapas with local dishes in a unique natural environment. Afterwards, we will hike to the Duende Waterfall, hidden in the forest and sculpted by the meltwater that descends from the peaks. Finally, we return to Ushuaia. Detailed schedule: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 14:15 - Pick up at the hotel 15:45 - Arrival at Puerto Almanza 16:00 - Embarkation and penguin navigation 18:00 - Tapas/dinner in Puerto Almanza 20:30 - Return to Ushuaia 22:00 approx: Arrival to Ushuaia city.
